I feel the public school system pushes the kids with learning disabilities through without regard to their needs. I am really frustated, having a child in 8th grade who is reading at a 3rd grade level. I have asked every year since being made aware of his reading delay in 1st grade if we can hold him back. We are consistently told it wouldn't be good for him socially. This year, however, we plan to have him repeat 8th grade and will not take no for an answer.
